Greetings FT editors, from a longtime reader, via my employer’s subscription (currently I work at the World Bank).
I have only recently started doing your weekend crosswords, and thoroughly enjoy the FT Weekend puzzle, which I find to be a top-notch diversion, having done US-style cryptics for many years.
I have an issue, however, with the Polymath puzzle. It is outright impossible for a non-Brit to come up with all of the UK-centric answers — I’m thinking here of cricket players, obscure literature, smallish rural rivers and the like. Why not make the Polymath more international in scope, so that us non-insiders can also feel the pride of completing a puzzle?
Just a thought.
