Rioting will never achieve anything positive or good (“Football thugs, criminals and children among those in dock”, Report, August 10).
In fact, rioting will justify the implementation of laws to restrict our freedoms. After the riots in Southport, Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke of the introduction of facial recognition technology into the UK. We don’t know where this is all going to end.
Facial recognition was science fiction in the ’70s. It was a conspiracy theory. But it’s here. It’s arrived. And if people complain about the cost of all this facial recognition technology (FRT), the authorities can say that in many
cities we already have the cameras. They’re called ULEZ cameras,
installed by local authorities as part of emissions reductions policies to catch non-compliant vehicles.
Did the authorities behind these “climate” cameras know they would eventually have a further use?
