SC stays NCLAT order that allowed BCCI to settle its dues with Byju’s

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has stayed NCLAT‘s order that allowed the settlement of Rs 158.9 crore dues between edtech company Byju’s and the BCCI.
The court’s bench, led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, also stayed the NCLAT’s ruling that had previously set aside the insolvency proceedings against Byju’s.
In response to a plea filed by Glas Trust Company LLC, a creditor based in the United States, the Supreme Court issued notices to Byju’s regarding the NCLAT verdict.The bench, which also includes justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, instructed the BCCI to keep the Rs 158.9 crore received from Byju’s in a separate account, considering the settlement.
